Anthony Sloan's Memorial Ride & Service - Evergreen CO 5-15-09

I guess I'll start a picture thread for yesterday's celebration of Anthony's life.

It was a pleasure to see old friends and make new ones. It was an amazing gathering of Anthony's family and friends. Thanks to everyone who could make it and for those folks who couldn't, we know your thoughts were with us and Anthony.

I'm still working on my pictures but have some ready.

    Let's see 'em....

Under sunny skies, the gathering begins...

Thanks for the pics guys, I'm looking forward to seeing more. It was really disappointing not being able to make it, especially since I was working in downtown Evergreen and watching a parade of cars with bikes pass throughout the day. I actually met Anthony at Three Sisters.
    Now with more vitriol!

    Bummer you couldn't make it.

There were a ton of people taking pictures, there should be some good ones out there.

Sorry if I'm causing confusion, it was pointed out to me that there already is a similar thread here. Hopefully this photo specific one is ok to keep around...

I'm bummed I missed the actual ride, but my earlier version was nice being solo with some solitude. I think I needed that.

What a great day! Met some new folks, rode with a lot of old friends, it was a day filled with laughter and tears, good times that brought up great memories and created lasting new ones. Here's a few shots that either Steph or I took, depending on time of day...
    The gathering starts...

Bubba from Yeti, taken as I was riding in front of him...

    Darn near mandatory...

Krik, FrontRanger, JSD303 (correct me if I'm wrong on that...)

    Aw man!

At the top looking down as the riders gather up...

    Aw man! part deux

    Is that a flask?

    Irresponsible...

    Is this a tradition?

See you on the next ride, I'm there.

I'm tucked in behind the JSD303 eclipse somewhere in that photo. I was drafting off him the whole way up, yet I'm so stealthy I don't show up in a picture...

Yes, though tequila is the preferred lubricant. But a tradition to be sure, and a necessity.
Since when did Need have anything to do with this?

    That's beautiful.
A man must have enemies and places he is not welcome. In the end we are not only defined by our friends but those against us.
