    8/28/07 Springs Ride

I'm not sure what the weather will hold, but I want to ride something technical. Palmer Park if it's sunny or Palmer Trail if the weather is bad?

K-man, both trail rigs are down at the moment. The Preston is awaiting a new crank arm and the Dobermann needs a very small, but crucial fork nut for the thru axle. I'm confined to the trials bike so I'm out. On the bright side, riding only trials for the last week has opened the door to a few new skills I didn't previously have.
A trail thatís too difficult wouldnít exist because itíd never be used. But, trails can exist thatíre too difficult for you.

I've hopped around Ute on the trials bike before. It hurt. Pedaling the trials bike is like pedaling a pixie - it's awkward, uncomfortable, and makes you feel like you have the endurance of a sloth. On that note, I'm in... but keep in mind that my highest gear is 22:11, so be nice.

Thank you for the offer, Rick. I like the feel of that Burner, but I'm going to pass. I'll just stick to the trials bike and if you guys defect to some trail riding, I'll play on the rocks.

I live right by ute. Can't guarantee from pictures that I've seen that I'll ride the same stuff, but I'd like to meet more riders here in the springs.

If I tell you I am riding this morning does that help

All bets are off for today, looking at the moisture from the tail end of Dean, the NE flow and the dropping temps I am guessing rain around ride time, may not be much lightning though with the cooler temps and the tropical flow.

Now really, like kchri say's you can't predict, not 8 hrs ahead of time, so get out and ride

Kman- I'm hearing Keystone is closing weekday operations after this weekend, supposedly open next weekend tho, can you make it over the weekend? Shawn and Kurt are both interested.

I confirmed yesterday that they will be open daily through Sunday the 9th, and open Sat-Sun 15-16 by calling their ticket office--where did you hear they would be closed? We have other plans for that Saturday so Friday is my only day to ride.

No one answered my question if we were meeting at the usual place (the parking lot off of Vindicator), so I guess that's where we are meeting.

Well I just found out that I can't ride tonight anyway. This whole getting married thing is getting old. I was just told that we're meeting our photographer at 5:30pm. Would have been nice to know that ahead of time.

Awesome. If we truly are doing a drop/huck/stupidity day today, I might just be inclined to do that.

I grabbed the camera, but didn't grab the big helmet so I'm only half in for a stupidity day. However, if Paul were to feed me full of beer, it might enable extra courage.

There is a liquor store in the Safeway strip mall right? Anything on Woodman?

Yeah, in the Diamond shamrock strip ctr, the Safeway one is really just as conv if you stay away from that main entrance, like enter at McD's and exit behind the Safeway

I ain't wearing my FF, so I'm only half in too, Shawn can hit all the big stuff

Sure you can. Tell her you two need to take a "break" until the wedding for some "time to think and clear your head." You might end up with more thinking time than you bargained for... but at least you'll have 100% freedom to ride.

Okay, I have a solution. Does she buy you bikes? If the answer is yes, you need to resist the temptation to ride with buddies. If the answer is no, what the hell kind of sugarmama is she?!

Hey, I didn't know if you guys were the group in the parking lot or not and I didn't want to be like 'hey are you the guys from the internet' or something stupid. i was on the green super v with the black forester. If that was you guys, sorry i didn't say anything. I rode straight after the stupid photographer appointment and hadn't eaten anything since lunch and I just wanted to get home and eat after riding. Normally I ride up from my apartment, but I didn't want to waste any daylight since I knew I'd just be out for a quickie.

Or a spasm in his right pointer finger. That's a lot of pics... but if professional photographer have only a 8% success rate, taking that many pictures dramatically increases his changes of good shots. Fine by me.

I can't wait to see them. Post them in a separate thread though if you get to your pictures before I get to mine tonight. I've got raspberries all down my shoulder to where my arm armor starts and I am SORE! I've got to wear the big armor on days when we're going to do dumb stuff...
