The draft version of the 2013 Tentative Colorado MTB Race Calendar is now up at at Sand Creek Sports - Mountain bike racing in Colorado

Put together by Sand Creek Sports with the help of all Colorado race organizers, the intent to to help to avoid overlapping race dates as much as possible.

Try opening the Calendar in Internet Explorer.

I normally use Firefox and I've had several reports in the past week that some people can't open the C.O.N.I. Manual on the site but when I tell them to open it in IE it seems to work.

Not being an IT person, I have no idea of why this happens.

Also, I update that Calendar about three times a week so I recommend linking to it and "refreshing" often. Several race organizers are now waiting for date confirmation from their communities before giving me their final date.

I'm 50 and just getting back into riding shape last year. Mainly ride Green Mtn and Bear Creek Lake Park since they are near my house. Rode Mt Falcon once last year and remembered why I hated it in college - nothing but a 3.5 mile climb followed by a long descent. I tend to like rides where I can constantly mix up climbing, descending and XC trail riding like the two above and Buffalo Creek.

I've never raced before so I'm looking for an easier Team race as a started. The 12 hours of Mesa Verde looks interesting. Looks like mostly single track with some hills but no major league, long climbs.

The 18 hours of Fruita also looks interesting. Anyone raced in either one of these with advice?

Boo hoo, no Voodoo from RME this year, I rode it last year, it was my first MTB race. I really enjoyed the course and was looking forward to seeing YOY improvement. I guess Bear Creek will be the gauge now.

thanks for sharing. Now that the MSC us no longer, I can only assume CB will have some sort of XC/DH race event over our fat tire bike week which is usually at the end of June.

Quite likely that the RIVERSIDE RAMPAGE in Salida, formerly an MSC event (race #1 last year), will be happening this spring. Don't know if it will be an Omnium again or just a 1-day XC race.

We'll be sure to let Andy at Sand Creek know if/when it gets scheduled.
