2 STOLEN BIKES - SC Butcher and Giant Trance (Colorado Springs)-1417812_10200879965024188_278345077_o.jpg

Went home for the holidays and came back to the Springs with our place broken into. The cowards only took our two nicest mountain bikes, please keep an eye out for bikes matching these descriptions:

Giant Trance - size small (gloss black with blue and white details and red anodized parts)
    Rockshox Sektor TK
    PUSHed Fox Float RP2
    Schwalbe Big Betty tires
    Red RaceFace Atlas Handlebars
    Red Hope Seatpost Collar
    Thomson Elite setback post
    Red raceface narrow-wide chainring
    Red VP-69 Pedals

Santa Cruz Butcher - size large (Unique paint scheme - matte black frame with bright yellow chainstays)
Rockshox Lyrik fork (scuffs on left stanchion and lowers)
    Rockshox Monarch RC3+ shock
    Rockshox Reverb post
    Easton Havoc wheels
    Blue Oury Grips
    Renthal Fatbars
Schwalbe Fat albert front tire, Conti Trail King 2.4 rear tire

I'll be adding photos as I can over the next few days. Thank god we have renter's insurance, but still would like to hold on hope that maybe we can recover them.

    Thank you,
    Paul

p_Dubs - That is such a bummer to hear Sounds really odd that they would only take your bikes? Almost like they are somewhat close to you and knew you were going to be out of town. Hope your bikes show up but what would really be nice is for the chumps to be caught and prosecuted. Will keep an eye out for them up here in the Denver area.

The funny part is we really have nothing else of value in the house, they took 2 nice cameras and a cheap computer monitor, and they ransacked the whole house looking for other high value stuff. Probably targeted as we are constantly taking the bikes in/out of the house. Thanks to all for condolences and keeping an eye out!

Keep an eye on Craigslist. And watch not just CO craigslist, but all over - thieves may have transported the bikes in an attempt to sell them. This site will allow you to search all of craigslist at once: All of Craigslist

That SUCKS!!! I'm really sorry to hear it! On the positive side, insurance bikes definitely take the sting out of a bad event. Go to a good shop and get an insurance estimate of their value (vs doing it yourself online) and submit it to your adjuster. They might need two estimates.

If you want to borrow a bike in the meantime, the Chilcotin is a large--I just wouldn't let you take it home with you .

    gives me hope! that's amazing!!!

we could turn this into a "what bike should I get for the front range" thread....

    bikes we're both looking at:

    yeti sb-66
    specy enduro 26
    ibis mojo HD
    transition covert
    kona process 153
    norco range
    santa cruz bronson

both of us will be riding the local tech CoSprings trails, as well as a few enduro races (keystone BME, whole enchilada BME, and the captain at the bare minimum), and also need something that'll take the thrashing of a bike park. and no wagon wheels

    thoughts?

Paul, if you want to check out the Kona in person my neighbor just got one a few months ago. Maybe he'd even let you take it into Ute. He actually had his previous bike stolen, only to catch the guy the next day. So I bet he'd understand.

You might want to go find a SB66 fast. Yeti has discontinued that bike at this point. Big thread on the Yeti board. Chainlove was blowing out SB66c with enduro kits for around 3k and race kits for 4k (saving about 1900 bucks). The Bronson has alot of tongues wagging at this point for how well it rides.

    Sorry for your loss....

You know I'm going to pimp the Norco, but the Kona looks awesome too. I'm sure you would love any of them though. Actually, after looking at the specs on both, I'd probably go Kona--the Pike on the Process is so worth it! Happy shopping you two!

Go with the Kona. The price point is way cheaper than the same base models of all the other bikes. Use the left over cash to go on a week-long ride-cation.
