A front range 24 hour race sounds sweet. To dads, slow guys, and people who want to have more fun rather than more racing. Needs to be easy to get to, easy to support the racers, and have beer.
Take the long cut, we'll get there eventually.

Oh wait, that's just what I'm looking for. Who wants to drive all the way to Moab just to suffer a 6+ hour drive to get home. I'd rather ride bikes.

Yeah, I would probably race that unless the entrance fee was really steep (like over $75 per rider). Is this a single participant, or are duos allowed? When would this be held? It would be good practice for the 24 Hours of COS. Cheyenne Mountain State Park would be a sweet place for a race like that!

Yes there would solo and team. Entry fee would be $80 and that would include park entrance. It would probably be at the end of April beging of May and of course there will be beer.

How can you have a poll of questions for each answer?

    IS this a trick thread?

I'd be interested. Thumbs up for affordable, local endurance races.

If you get it going I will be there to pretend to be fast for about 4 hours and then drink beer the rest of the " race" then do a final drunken lap at the end.

    That's how I roll.

My own 2 cents from previous experiences.

I haven't looked at the 2012 schedule, but it would appear you're a little late to be organizing something for this year if you plan on drawing a lot of riders, and not conflicting with other events/promoters.

If you shoot for 2013 you would have a much better chance of drawing the support you need both financially and in participation.

    This sounds awesome!

Shoot for a weekend that does not conflict with 12hrs of mesa verde.

This does sound fun. Not sure if I would participate in the race, but I would definitely attend and bring the cowbell!

FYI, having beer at CMSP is going to be a hurdle. In my past dealings with the staff there they were very accommodating on lots of stuff--alcohol was not one of them. Sure they might turn a blind eye to an individual drinking but that is going to be much different than say a beer tent. Good luck.
