XXL Tallboy is here......the wait is over!

Well I just got it in and can't wait for my first ride tomorrow. I added Industry Nine Enduro Wheels with Stan's ZTR flow rims and Geax Seguaro 2.2 tires as well as the XTR pedals. The LBS also threw in a Salsa seat tube QR. Everything else is the stock SPX build kit.

Tossed it on the scale and my XXL beast weighs in at 27.04 lbs.

I started on this board a couple months ago seeking information and I want to thank everyone who helped provide me with the info to make an informed decision. I tried a few other FS 29ers that I also liked, but this one just seemed the best for me.

Oh yeah....I almost forgot. Since this is Clyde thread, I'm 6"4" and 250lbs.

Did a quick ride today (about 9 miles-mixed 70% single track and 30% fire road with about 1,000 ft. elevation gain).

Riding this bike compared to my Spec Epic Disc 26" FS is like experiencing the thrill of mountain biking for the first time again.

I don't need to reiterate what others have said about the advantages of a 29er. It takes away my fear and adds to the fun!

Super-nice, love the dark stealthy appearance over the orange, nice weight for XXL as well.

Besides the the bigger wheels and rolling over stuff, what other differences do you feel compared to your Spec ? I've got Spec SJ Expert 29er and thinking the TB has got to be much better at XC

I never had a chance to try the SJ Expert 29er so I can't comment on any comparison to the Tallboy.

I think my Spec has 80mm travel up front an 60mm in the rear, so that alone is a huge difference. The brakes on the new bike are much better than 8 year-old technology. The overall geometry/size just seems to feel more comfortable for climbing, descending and just about everything. Again, these are all just subjective observations.

Which I9's did you pick up? I thought I read somewhere that I9's make a Clyde version wheel set as well?

I'd love to test ride an XXL someday. Enjoy the ride.

I have the Industry 9 Enduro Hubs, which is their stoutest version laced with the Stan's ZTR Flow rims.

It is. After a few rides, it's much less brilliant now, at least in color.
