    Trek Stache 8 wheels

I know a lot of people have recommended the Stache 8 as a good bike. It looks like it will fit my needs and it's on my short list if bikes I'm considering. My main concern with it is the wheels. Will the 28h wheels be okay with a super Clyde riding XC with roots, rocks and a few small drops?

No production bike is going to come with wheels for a super clyde. You either ride them until they break or go into it knowing that they need to be replaced with aftermarket wheels right away. It's going to be the same with any complete bike you purchase.

Im 6'3 290 and ride a Stache 7. Have about 100 hard miles on it in the rock covered PA area. Last week took a 2' drop/jump landed square on the edge of a rock sticking out about 6in high. Blew out tube (dime size hole). After replacing tube and seating tire only very slight bend in wheel. I was for sure it was done. So I must say so far they have done very well. But with my size and riding style im sure they will get replaced at some point.
