    Trek Liquid 55

Looking at one of these for an All Mountain Ride. I'm 6'4" 245# so I guess I'm a Clyde. I'm selling my Kona Stinky because its a little too small for me and I'd like something a little lighter than can go uphill. I'm SERIOUSLY looking at one of these 2005 Liquid 55 Close-Outs, considering they cn be had for under $1700...

    Whats your feel, fellow Clydes...LOL

(Sorry if this post is a repeat, I didn't see the clyde section previously)

i dunno if the carbon chainstays have a rider weight limit. i rode one for a couple of hours (at a mere 200#) and found it to be a good bike. however, going to a 5# lighter bike to aid in climbing hills is rather amusing when you consider the total load you're hauling up said hill. i vote for stuff that won't break under me.

There's no carbon fiber on the Liquid 55, there is on the fuel. I agree with you about strength being more important than weight. I'm coming from peddling a freeride bike uphill so this thing is a feather weight at about 30# compared to 42#.
