    tire pressure question

I just bought a Jamis Trail XR. The guy at the LBS said it was fine for my size 6'2" 280.

Anyway, went riding today and the tire look like they are flattening out under my weight. I checked the tire (27 x 1 3/8) for the max pressure (65 psi) inflated to that but they still look like they are flat.

Any ideas, bigger tires, inflate to a higher psi?

    Thanks

You can inflate to a higher psi if you have tubes. Exceeding specified pressure with tubeless is a bad idea.

Wider tires is a good solution.

Thanks, I have Sunlite tubes. I'm going to stop at the LBS where I bought the bike and talk to them.

Your tires aren't flat. They will bulge out a little at the bottom, but they are supposed to do that. You only weigh 30lbs more than me and I ride my mountain bike with just over half that pressure with no problems.
