    suspension for big guys+softail upgrade

I am 6'2", 280 lbs. and looking for a fork that will stand up to aggressive XC. My only experience with suspension was an old (1998?) Marzocchi Z2 bam; it was good for me then, at which time i was 80 lbs. lighter than now. Weight is no issue, 4" max travel. Also, my new softtail frame has a Cane Creek AD-5 rear shock; i doubt this thing will hold up to my abuse. What options are there for the softtail shock? I prefer coil/oil

Fork wise, check out the 32mm legged Rock Shox (Tora $, Recon $$, Reba $$$) or the Marzocchi XC 600 $$

As far as the rear shock, most "soft-tails" use proprietary shock sizes (not a standard eye to eye or stroke length) so its likely you will have limited options here. If anyone would make a coil/oil model to fit your soft-tail, it would likely be Risse.

    Good Luck
