REBA versus SID for a clyde singlespeed

I'm considering both of these models for my singlespeed. Anyone have experience with the SID RCT3 as a clyde? I know that the SIDs are the "rickety rocket" of the RS line, or at least they have in the past (the reliability and rider weight limit were an issue on older models). Am I correct to assume that the reliability should be a bit better, given that the 2012 REBAs and SIDs have the same chassis (but different internals)? I'm definitely on the clyde fringe at 215#--thanks for any feedback!

I'd go with the 15mm axle on either...my 2011 Reba 130mm with a 20mm axle is plenty stiff. SID forks have traditionally been high maintenance forks, but I can't comment on the current models.

Reba. I can't tell you how many borderline clydes complain about how crappy their SIDs are. I fix them enough for light weight folks...you might consider going for durability versus saving a couple ounces.

at 215 you should be more than fine on the SID to be honest. I had one of the newer generation ones and i loved it on my XC bike (which i no longer have due to room limitations). the fork honestly surprised me with how stiff it was compared to say a reba (pretty much equal) and how well it rode.

Also all the newer generation SID's actually require no more maintenance than a Reba or Revelation as they pretty much share the same internals design

thanks for the input. decided that the SID was worth a go, as the price difference was not terrible (thanks Biker Bob). We'll see how things hold up.....

    thanks again
