    Opinions on this used Rockhopper

I posted this thread about purchasing my first bike: Help! This uber needs his first bike...

    To summarize, I'm 6'1" and around 400lbs.

Anyhow, I've been searching craigslist for the past few weeks and came across this listing for a late 90's rockhopper:

With a rigid fork, and what looks to be 36-spoke wheels (actually 36 upfront, 32 in the back), it seems like a perfect fit for me. Only thing I'm worried about is the frame size as 21" seems like it may be too big for me (I'm 6'1"). Also, any opinions on the price? Seems like the seller is rigid on the $275 asking price. Thanks!

I am 6'2" and have a 21" Giant Yukon that fits me great! You really should ride it before you buy though. $275 seems a little much for that bike. However, I read your other thread about getting out and active and you really cant put a price on that so go for it if you like it! Good luck and post how you made out back here!

That bike is nice, should fit you well. My daily commuter is a 1994 Rockhopper that's 20.5" and I'm 6'2. But as the poster above said....$275 is a big steep for this thing. MSRP was $600 back in 1998.

I know that there are some upgraded items on this bike, but used is used...
