New Release - Specy Rockhopper Comp Disc 29 SS

I posted this in the SS forum but figured I would crosspost it here.

So I was just at the LBS looking at single speeds, even though I just ordered a Marin Hamilton SS, and they told me that Specy just announced a late release Rockhopper Comp Disc 29er SS (it's not on their website yet). They are going to call me with the price when they get it. The geared version of the Comp Disc 29 SS runs $940. The Comp Disc 29er SS should run about $750. If that's the case, I'll probably cancel my Hamilton order ($450) and go with the Specy. $300 more for the Specy is a lot more bike for the money.

Well...turns out the LBS was mistaken, so sadly no Specy SS in the $700-$800 range.

would be a neat option... i'm playing with the idea of a SS right now... I know in the end it'd be a stronger rider... but we'll see... have a friend whos willing to loan me his SS wheelset before I commit to buying ... seems like fun... and a good way to build power quickly.

It would have been an awesome option. Instead, my LBS is taking a RH Comp Disc XL and converting it to a SS for me for $899. Not sure if I like that deal or not - depends on components.
