    Looking for Advice

Hi, new to posting here, but have used the site off and on for a few years and totally love the info on here. I am looking for some opinions as to an upgrade for a new bike. I have been riding a Hardrock pro for the past couple of years have decided to upgrade to better bike.

I am looking at a Trek Fuel Ex 7, Trek 8000 (both new) or a closeout Jamis Dakar XAM 2.0. Any opionions on these for a 6' 295 lb. rider? Any other suggestions I should look at? I plan on doing a mix of fireroad/single track and some in city riding.

Based on your riding description, a hardtail makes the best sense. So out of what you mentioned, the Trek 8000 would be the choice I would make. However, if you have the opportunity to ride a 29er, you should check them out. They will be more efficient on the city and fireroad riding and IMO are better all around, even on singletrack.
