# Thread: How many hours a week do you ride?

1. ## How many hours a week do you ride?

Just out of curiosity

I probably put on 50ish miles a week or 2-3 hours of riding, depending who I ride with and if I have the kiddo in a trailer etc

like most of you I'm just out for fun, losing a little weight and gaining endurance

I can ride 2-3 hours on the road bike and be tired but not necessarily sore, but probably still a bit tired the next day, 1.5-2 hours trail riding feels about the same

so how many of you are at the point where you feel like you might not have enough available time in the week to ride enough to lose more weight?

2. My goal at the moment is 6 hours per week riding (3 on a trainer, 3 in the dirt) and 3 hours per week in the gym. When the kids are out of school for the summer my riding hours will increase.

3. It's just tough with kids and a wife who works at night (insert joke here) while I work days. I'm limited to Sundays only, unless I can do a night ride nearby after 9:00. I ride for about 5 hours the Sundays I can, though. But I am in the gym Monday through Friday to make sure I take advantage of that 5 hours. I have a gym at work that I can use before my shift. I hope to have my ride time increase in a few months when my job picks up, since the wife won't have to work as much.

4. ## How many hours a week do you ride?

I'm off school right now, so I'm able to ride about an hour or so a day on the road. Granted it's only about 9 or 10 miles but every little bit helps.

5. 6 to 8 hours...i like to get in a good 3 rides a week keeps me sane

6. 3-5 hours a week. but I really want to start getting in more like 5-8

7. I ride 4 to 6 days a week, usually for 1.5 to 2.5 hours at a time, sometimes longer rides. I don't think I need more ride time so much as I 'probably' need to eat less :~/

Probably?

Definitely.

8. 20 + hours each week. I sneak in road rides before work and mountain bike all day on days off. This is with a 40 hour work schedule, My favorite part is power naps during lunch break haha.

Being single without kids helps.

9. I probably only average 5-6 hours/week, unfortunately a typical week is 10-12 (when I'm home) or 0 due to work travel and it being nearly impossible to ride. Like others have said, riding keeps me sane, and my coworkers can usually tell when it's been too long and I need to go home.

I'm having fond memories of a few years ago, and short 40-50 hour work weeks, plus I've heard that people in some places take 2 days a week off work.
