Help with deciding on a new ride

I have started researching/shopping around for a new bike. I have had my GT since 1986 and have rode it into the ground.
1st problem/question Im 7'2 310# any help with recomendations is appreciated.
Here are a few of my leading contenders: Lenz Behemoth, Niner EMD or RIP, a Gary Fisher 29er ( they seem to be the smallest tho). I dont mind spending a few bucks, I want to do it right.
    Comments and advice appreciated.

Have you looked at the "clyde" specific models here? The biggest frame they have is a 22" though.
    2014 Giant Anthem 27.5
    2013 DeVinci Leo SL
    2009 SE Racing SoCal Flyer
    2008 SE Racing lil Ripper

The Gary Fishers only go up to a frame size of 21", so those would be too small.

If you're OK with dropping some bigger bucks, I'd look at Zinn Cycles. He specializes in custom frames and cranks for taller riders.

His web site should be listed in the MTBR links (or you can google it).

    Good luck.

Yeah, your best bet is going to be a custom frame and a properly spec'd out list of heavy duty components. Most mass produced frames will only go up to 23" if you're lucky and they will work for most guys up to maybe 6'6"-6'7" or so, I would think. 29" wheels would help make your whole ride look a little more like it's got the proper proportions for you as well. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.

Give Sherwood at Ventana USA a call, see what he can help you out with. He does custom bikes, and uses quad bearings, great for creating a stiffer linkage for suspension for BIG guys. Also, fully customizable design:
And yeah, I would look to go 29er being that big!
