    First FS bike questions

    Hello

Just bought a used Devinci Magma in great shape. Noticed it has a DJ2 front fork which i thought was odd.

I have no idea of the year but the price was right.

Now im well into super clyde weight and want to ride bike paths till i lose a few pounds.

Is there anything i should be checking on a regular basis? Ive never owned a bike with suspension.

You should define "super-clyde," but if you're under 350, and being as how you're simply riding paths, I would just make sure you have sufficient air in the tires and shock/forks... IMHO

currently at 350, when i was in very good shape i run about 250

I worry about the strength of the forks/shocks until i lose the 100lbs

I will stick to the paths for a bit until i lose some weight just wondered with a FS bike if there were certain items i should check after each ride.

I'd say just make sure you maintain it on a regular basis. More often than suggested by the manufacturer. I'm 355 right now, and guys like us put extra stress on parts that in most cases weren't meant to hold our weight. Kudos to you for getting on your bike and beginning a journey to better health. I just started riding again after quite a few years too.
