does this sound like a defective cable?

Ok so the other day i take my bike out. I went through alot of mud. After the muddy rideing my bike wouldn't shift into the smallest cog on the front derailleur.

I messed around with it and couldn't get it to work.

Take it to LBS and picked it up today. Lbs mechanic who fixed it said i didn't need a new cable.

So i start riding it home today and all is good except the rear derailleur needed some fine adjusting.

But then the front derailleur stopped shifting into the biggest cog.

Does this sound like a faulty cable? like maybe it stretched or something?
