    Clydes using Strava

I am lobbying Strava to provide the same level of weight segmentation for Athletes above 200lbs that they do for Athletes under 200lbs (10-15lb increments)

Great you understand. So let's try again, go endorse the idea now. With a voice we do matter.

I liked it, I would become a premium member if they had it.

    Strava

My issue is that it doesn't really matter. When I sort by my weight on a particular segment , 9 out of 10 times the KOM and most of the top people are skinny, sponsored riders with inaccurate weights listed. For example, here's a pic of a segment I rode Saturday with the leaderboard organized for 200lb riders.

Number 3 is Erica Tingey a Jamis factory rider. She's got to be 100 pounds soaking wet.

And it's the same for most of the top ten. So what good does the sort feature offer anyways when it's abused or not monitored?

There isn't anyone around where I live that rides much less uses Strava. Kinda sucks because it would be cool to compare and even compete against others on some of the routes I ride in my area (road) but it is what it is. I agree though...200+ should be broken up the same as those <200#.

I stopped paying for premium because it won't sort above 200 lbs. I'm sure they could easily add that feature and they choose not too. Sucks

    New Clyde on Strava

I started in on the Stava addiction in January...and love to hate it because it really changes the way I ride. Having said that, I will not subscribe to the Premium until they offer some breakdown for the larger riders.

haha what about if you used to be a clyde and now are under 200, partially due to additional motivation from Strava! I love it. I just compete against myself. No one rides where I ride so it's just me for the most part. Who cares! It Gives me a goal that is really specific. I think it is fantastic. I have lost almost 30 lbs.

I use it to keep track of my riding days and to see where I have been on the trails. When I was riding my road bike a lot I got caught up in trying to go faster just to try to improve my ranking on a segment. All that did was make me tired sooner and kept me from increasing distance.

Let me simplify Strava for my fellow Clydes here with a simple how to guide on avoiding poutrage and other shenanigans that comes with an online community.
