    Clydes new Cross

    http://i381.photobucket.com/albums/o...2/P2110421.jpg

Just added this new ride to the stable. I was a little nervous about getting a bike with skinny tires and drop bars, but its been awesome! I've put about 150 miles on it since Super Bowl Sunday and its holding its own under my 265lbs. I thought some of the bigger guys might be interested in knowing that there are some bikes out there to handle our girth

There are so many captions that could be added to that pic because of your dog.

"SURPRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISE!!! I got you a bike!"

"You're going to ride that instead of playing with me?"

"OH, HI!!! What are you doing home so early?"

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! My daddy parts are stuck between the deck boards!!!"

    P.S.

    Nice bike btw!!!

I'm running drop bars at about the same seat to bar hight as you, but on mt 29er, so it's half way between a cross and a mtb. I really like the hand positions.

How do you like the bike? I have looked at the Giant and the Salsa LaCruz as a commuter, off-road plaything and am thinking I like the fit of the Giant...Not a lot of time in the saddle of each, though. Your thoughts on the ride of the Giant? Thanks!

I really liked the ride of the Giant. It had a lot to do with the fit of the bike to start with. I have been riding the hell out of it and love it. I didn't look at the Salsa, but I did look at the Surly Cross Check and to me, there was no comparison. The Surly is a great bike, but it was heavy. I liked the lighter Giant. Hope this helps.
