    Bike advice!

I am 38, 5'11" and 240lbs and want to get back into riding. I have been reading a ton of the posts in all of the forums, but wanted to get some advice on purchasing my new bike!

I have about $1500 to spend on a bike, helmet and etc. gear. I would like to get an XC because there are a ton of trails in my area as well as hilly roads.

I am doing this to get in shape and drop the lbs.

So, what would you buy if you were me today!

    Thanks,

    Josh

Then spend the rest on a helmet, camelbak, pump, multitool, light, etc.

Truthfully, there are lots of options and this is just one I would look at if I were you. Bike shopping is enjoyable, so measure several times and then cut just one check. If you're going to be outfitting yourself at the same time, many shops may give you discounts on the accessories if you buy all at once with the bike or close together. Never hurts to ask.
