6'6"--is a Large DH bike big enough?

Seems like most manufacturers stop at L. I realize an L to one company is an XL to another (e.g. Spec Demo large has the same reach as XL V10).

My trail bike is a Stumpjumper Evo 29 in XL and it fits great. Is a Spec Demo in large or a V10 in XL going to fly? No dealers around here to go try in person.

That's a trail bike. I already have one I like. Looking for a DH specific bike (I.e. 8"+ travel)

At your height, I would go for a Lenz PBJ...29er with 7 inch travel, but can handle park or full on DH...woulda gotten one myself, but their xxl top tube is a little too short for me at 7ft.

I ended up getting a full steel DH frame made by bicycle fabrications in SF and was like 2500 for frame plus Fox coil. Waltworks also does full steel DH custom frames in 26er or 29er.

No way, L is gonna be too cramped IMO. I'm 6'3" and wouldn't ride a large.
