11mph goal achieved. It only took two years.

It may not be much to speak of to most but it's been a long time in the making for me.

    Congradulations!

I actually just reached 11.1mph Saturady is it was pretty darn cool! All that extra weight on a downhill came in handy for something lol.

It seems you set yourself a goal and have achieved it. Good for you! Of course you understand now you have to set yourself another tougher goal, right?

Nice one - I think I may have averaged 11 once for the possum hill section of White Clay on my cyclocross bike, but that was a particularly reckless ride (may have been the one where I ended up in a thorn bush with the bike on top of me, not sure on that though). What is that trail down from Paper Mill Park like?
Yeah I only carry cans cause I'm a weight weenie.

Nice! I have a fast and flowy 11 mile loop trail near my house with similar elevation gain. It's great to get out there and fly an d get the heart rate up. Congrats on reaching your goal.

    Alex,

The trails from PMP are awesome. Flow city.

    To all,

Thanks for the comments. I'm working on breaking into CAT 2 next year.

Awesome, was thinking of trying to get my brothers down to White Clay this weekend if the conditions are OK - doubt we'll be cracking 11 mph though I'll try and remember to park at Paper Mill to give that a look - is there much to it other than the connection to middle run you've got on here?

Congrats on hitting your mark! I have not even started paying attention to how fast we average when we ride...though I am getting curious...
Remember when we were kids and our Mom's said we could not play in the mud? I'm making up for it now!!

    Alex,

The connector is an awesome flow trail. You'll like it. When you get into Middle Run after crossing Fox Den Road, check out the Creekside skills features. You'll find them by taking a left at the fork. The Trail Spinners worked hard on those. Enjoy.

    Prof,

I only care because I want to break out of beginner and into CAT 2. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it and I'd ride for the thrills alone.

Rode from Paper Mill Park on Sunday - actually ran into Ricardo on the trails. That connector trail is really pretty fun, and the creekside features are great. We arranged our ride so we could hit creekside on the way in and the way out, and will probably do so for the foreseeable future. Don't think we averaged 11 mph though

    Thanks for the tip!

I'm glad you enjoyed the connector and the Creekside features. We worked very hard on those. Many people volunteered lots of hours to create them. Come out and volunteer sometime. You can also support us by joining IMBA. Make the Trail Spinners your chapter.

Sorry, I couldn't stay and chat.

Heh, we were on the move too. I will try to come volunteer at some point, but I'm pretty busy with that sort of thing up in PA already (and PMBA is my chapter). I will pass the word on to my friends in Delaware though for sure

    You should do fine.

I'm pretty sure that was you at the shop the other night. I'm not sure who you're riding with but come on out with us and we'll get you up to speed.

    88;

At the WW open house? Did we meet? We're going to start wearing name tags with our forum names on them. Or, perhaps, I'll just wear the horns everywhere.

I'm an ambitious individual. I plan on doing my best. I'll ride with you sometime but I'm set on a training regimen.
