Seeking Feedback on Multi-Bike Trailer Conversion

This may be a shot in the dark but I'm hoping to start a MTB club for the students at the high school where I work. Transportation is a major issue, so I'm trying to see if there's any way to work with what we have, which is a big ol' canoe trailer. Can anyone comment on whether it would be possible/advisable to transport mountain bikes on this thing?
    Thanks for any help!

I copied this photo some time ago that shows you can.

PVC to make a rack each rear tire slides into and some tie down points. That trailer will likely bounce because of how light the load will be.
