Bike Mount for 2013 Subaru Outback

I have a Yakima Front loader mounted to the stock crossbars on the Outback. I use it for my Stumpjumper 29. I mount the rack about 8 inches away from the end of the crossbar so I can reach it to load and unload.

The Crossbars on the Outback flex so much that the bike rocks like crazy. Pretty spooky when you see it.

Anyone have a fix for this? I called Yakima and they are looking into it because it is a known problem.

I told Subaru, and they denied it's a problem. Even after I demonstrated.

Either Subaru or Yakima have bars now that plug in where the stock bars plug in. Alternately you can get bars that mount to the OEM bars as the OEM bars are mounted fore/aft.

I hate the stock Outback crossbars, they are clearly designed by and for people who don't use roof racks. Curiously, the european market Outback doesn't have the stupid things.

For what it's worth, though, they do flex but i don't think they're going anywhere.
