Riser bars on a Yuba Spicy Curry?

We've got the stock sweep bars on the Yuba Spicy Curry. I hate the ergon grips, and replaced them with some blingy Brooks leather grips (in part to mount an Airzound). Unfortunately, this changes the wrist angle to be a little too bent for my taste.

Has anyone had any luck with installing riser bars to make more of a flat bar feel, without changing the handling?

You will increase effective reach moving to a straighter bar but I think you will be fine handling wise, the bike is pretty stable. You might want to source a shorter stem or have the stock adjustable one at a high angle. I like the swept bars but put on a longer stem for more reach, cannondale makes 1.5" steerer tube stems.
