I rode something similar in Amsterdam with my sister-in-law in the bucket. I was really surprised how well the bike handled, especially with ~100lbs in the bucket. Congrats.

Nice! I guess we need to get together to mount those lights I have onto it. Bring the beer over, we’ll get it hooked up.

Hehe, I recognise my front wheel/tire (Surly Large Marge + 26"x2.5" Maxxis Hookworm) in that photo.

    Our new Cargo!

I’ve been a National Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) for nine years and the message has always stayed consistent as it relates to the “best.” The best child restraint is one that fits your child, fits your vehicle, and is one that will be used correctly every time you travel.

Interesting, but I'm still trying to get my brain around how that steering works. Is it cable controlled?

There is an articulated steering arm setup that goes from the handlebar to the fork. It attaches at the bottom of the steerer tube (the one that connects to the fork), which then goes underneath the cargobike and connects to a provision welded to the right-side fork arm on the fork.

I get the concept. Thanks for explaining. Looks like a fun ride for the kid to be out in front instead of the typical set-up of riding with a giant wall in front of them. Enjoy!

This is how light aircraft control surfaces are often controlled. Vocabulary in that context is control rod and the levers are horns. To turn the motion another direction, or transfer it to cables, a bellcrank is used. The ball& socket joints on the ends of the rod are Heim joints. Knowing the terms will make it easier for home builders to source parts and find info on best practices.
