    my new Kona Ute

my cargo/dad bike... weighs in at a healthy 18.5kgs

    and with the boy "attached":

went for a nice ride on sunday, he was asleep by the time we reached the park up hill, nearly all the way, and cheering as we went down hill on the way home done a couple of tip runs with it too... it's actually quite a fun bike to ride, & i don't yet feel the need to modify it (well maybe some chunkier tyres, will 28x2.35 big apples fit? )

i got one of these from one of the neighbours too (it's good to have options) for the princely sum of 30, it's like new:

I looked at the Ute, but didn't have a Kona dealer anywhere near. Looks like a fun bike! Do I see that it comes with colour-matched fenders? That's nifty.

Thanks gmats, kinda like his dad! Ha!

evandy, yep, all colour coded... I took a bit of a gamble buying this online & I'm so glad I did, if I'm being honest I would have preferred a Surly Big Dummy, but this was 1/3rd the price so there was only really one way to go... I'm very pleased with it

Yes, there IS only one way to go. And that's the Dummy!

Seriously, though, the Ute looks like a great bike. I'd love to ride one some day if I get the chance... but I don't regret my Dummy one bit.

    Neither do they:

I faced the same problem out here in Hawaii. Shipping kills us. I wanted the dummy but couldn't justify it for some time because I had a suitable commuter. Then a Trek Transport happened here locally. I got a great price too so though it's not the dummy I wanted, I'm enjoying my "Tank".

Sweet bike! When we have kids, first thing I'm buying is a cargo bike
