    Always carry a spare!

Even better if it is a snow tire, for the unpredictable weather events!

I had to do Dremel off my cantilever bosses, and do some banging with a hammer to be able to fit some 26"x3" Duro Razorback downhill tires mounted on 65mm wide Surly Large Marge rims, but eventually got ’er dun.

Was a lot of work. In fact, too much effort for the end result… of deciding to put more sensible 26"x2.5" Maxxis Hookworm tires on instead. I just wish that Surly had designed the Big Dummy for larger tires (oh, let’s say, I dunno now, perhaps Endomorphs or Larrys???) from the beginning. Sucks having to void a warranty just to get a product working to the specification of the needs of the consumer.
