Yakima - Viper vs SteelHead bike mount??
I'm thinking of getting a Yakima bike rack for my Jetta to haul around my GF HiFi - rather than putting it the trunk, and also allow brining a friend's bike along.
Debating between the Viper vs the SteelHead bike mount.
What are major differences? Is the Viper worth the extra if just using with the Yakima round bars? Will one work better with my HiFi (had a Fox 32 F120RL fork) ?
I know the reason the viper came out originally was to accomodate disk brakes better. for example, my old shimano xt braked bike will not fit on my buddy's old steelhead rack but works just fine on the viper. im reallly not sure what the steelhead looks like these days, if its changed much, but the viper works very well and adjusts very easily for between different forks.
ok - thnx for the input... i might just play it safe and get the viper (i've got discs obviously on the HiFi)... the price difference isn't worth getting the wrong one....
