    Yakima 2091?

How do these racks rate for security, rigidity, ease of use, and durability? Also, are the bottom mounts flexible? I would like to through bolt it at the center into my #2 avalanche bed cover panel.

because part of the ratchet mechanism extends below the base plate, you won't be able to bolt it flush.
when the rack is loaded with bikes, you cannot access the mounting hardware underneath the cover plates in the front.
when the rack is in the down, storage mode, you can use the cable lock around the rear crossbar which will prevent the rear wheel hoop from coming up, thereby preventing someone from accessing the mounting hardware when it is not carrying a bike.

Ok. Thanks for clearing that up Scott. Now I may be considering a fork mount on panel #1 and tire loop on panel #3. I would kind of like to have the front tire mount though, as I think I'd get tired of "QR" ing the front tires all the time.
