Forgot to mention one image is the Thule Raceway 9001 ...

Thule 9001 Raceway 2 Bike Rear Mounted Bike Rack : Amazon.com : Sports & Outdoors

This Carrier is a Hatch Mounted Rack .... The Raceway looks interesting because it can be stored easier than either the Kuat or 1up because I have limited space living in 1 bedroom apartment.

Kuat vs 1up vs Raceway 9001

    Thanks!

1up all the way. folds up tiny, and easy to take on and off.

Ok I've decided on the 1UP or Thule Raceway 9001 ... Ease of storage and 2 bike capacity the Thule is better. The 1UP holds only one bike and cost more. Help me decide.

    - Thanks

The 1Up can hold two bikes... but at a cost. Between the 1Up and the Thule Raceway, I'd go 1Up if budget is no object. It's a nice piece.
If you are on a budget, but want good quality, I'd go KŁat Sherpa for platform. For hanging style, hitch mount, the Thule Helium Aero... Thule Helium Aero - Thule

1UP without question. Nothing comes close to ease of use, aluminum tooled parts (no plastic or rubber), portability, and looks. It's almost incomprehensible that they can sell it at the price they do. I spoke to the owner and their profit margin is very small. When you factor in length of probable ownership along side quality, it's idiotic to buy anything else for $100 or so difference in price. If the cost is an issue, save your pennies over the next couple months and then get it.

i had never heard of 1up before my purchase.

saw a posting on a car forum that i visit daily and then saw it mentioned here.

i searched and BOOM - everyone is raving about it.

i bought my trek earlier this year and 1up got the call.

i am very happy with it and the ability for it to be stored sooooo compactly.

if you have the money it will pay for itself every time you load and unload your bike/s.

the only issue is there is no built-in security but i do not go shopping, or whatever, with my bike on the rack.

here is a pic i have posted all over the place

1upusa. It is absolutely the best. Anything else is second place.

I have a Kuat Core. I like it but it's like 50 pounds. I've head the 1Up is a feather weight compared to the core. I got a great deal on my Core so it was a no brainier for me.

Where did you buy your Kuat Core? If you could buy the 1UP at same price as your Core, would you?

    Thx

I got it used from a friend. One thing about the core and all these racks is that if you take em on a 4wd trail that's rated most difficult they break. Lol....totally dumb move on my part.

I've never seen a 1UP rack in person. However, the reviews are overwhelmingly positive. So yeah, I'd buy one. If I found one that's extra beefy and can stand up to off roading I'd buy that too.

When I had my NV, I found myself using it quite a bit (even at home). Very useful IMO.

Look at tufrack.com - those guys seem to suggest that their rack will stand that kind of abuse.
