New question here. Has anyone installed Thule vertex 2 bike rack?

my vertex 2 bike rack seems to wiggle sideways when I shake it.

The large stock screw doesn't seem to be long enough to go through the hole of receiver at other end.

Did I installed the rack incorrectly?

Should I contact Thule for longer screw?

What size is your receiver on your car? Are there two different screws for the 2" adapter and the 1 1/4" reciever?

I have 1 1/4 receiver on the car. I used the large screw to secure the hitch.

the screw looks big enough therefore it must be the right one. The small screw is attached into the small hole at the base of the heavy duty plastic case that enable the hitch to open up away from the trunk.

the bolt will not come through the other side.
make sure you have the flat washer and the lock washer in the correct configuration with the lock washer against the head of the bolt.
put the bolt in from the passenger side going towards the driver side. the bolt head remains on the passenger side.
    tighten it.
you should be good to go.
