Carry wheel on roof -- 15mm axel -- How?

I have a Thule roof rack (since 1992!) and just got my new Felt Edict Nine 3. I am trying to figure out how to carry a wheel on the roof. I have both a new and old style wheel carrier. But no idea how to throw a wheel up there.

I'm going to be getting the RockyMounts Driveshaft fork adaptor so the bike can ride up there. But what about the wheel?

The wheel is not something I have to do often. but when a race turns muddy or for some reason the wheel won't fit, up it needs to go.

    Suggestions?

    Thanks

^^^ pic of how you trust your wheel like that please.

Emailed Thule. They don't have anything yet. Was hoping someone here had seen or used something.

I dont think anyone makes a wheel holder for TA wheels. If they did, you'd still have to buy another axle to make it work. There are a hundred different ways to strap a wheel to a rack. You can't think of one?

Great use for old toe clip straps, just strap it to your frame.

I use a set of these Mavic adapters to fit my 15mm axle 29ers in the Saris wheel mounts, pull the O-rings out and they slide in and out easier and allow you to use normal QR.

EDIT: Here's my setup with the wheel holder, BTW that's a WTB Dissent on there, big tire. I have just replaced the fork mounts with one Origin8 fork that has adapters for all 3 fork standards, sweet setup.
