Beware Rocky Mounts
Thanks to the advice from Sal, I called Rocky Mounts and they graciously are replacing the broken skewer. Certainly not my intention but very cool. Most importantly I am sending them a picture of the broken part so that they can figure out WTF.
Thanks Rocky Mounts, you will continue to be my choice to keep my bike attached to the car.

Chances are quite likely that email you sent is sitting in some anonymous mailbox with all sorts of other email - imagine how much spam and BS a generic email on a company site gets! In short, I doubt you're being ignored.
FWIW, when I have a problem I never, ever settle for sending an email as my results when I've done so in the past were the same as yours - no answer, even with large supposedly well-run companies like Amazon, Microsoft and Dell.
I always call and get a person, a name, dates, etc. Works quick and efficiently even though some are masters at hiding their customer service telephone numbers. If I were you I'd find a phone number and talk to a live body.

this isn't always the case. rocky mounts isn't a huge conglomerate like microsoft or dell, and you'd be surprised at how many companies actually do get emails and respond to them.

I know that you have a horse in this race but Rocky Mounts is a small company that has treated me great. Maybe they do not answer emails promptly but were more than helpful once I made the correct effort.
I personally don't like it when marketing is accomplished though putting others down.

Scott's agreeing with you in his first reply.

It sounded strange to me, like he was putting down Rocky Mounts, and yes he was right, they didn't answer my email. No malice meant at all, I read the implication like Rocky Mounts wont answer your email, but we will, as your banner runs across the screen. It was kind of surreal. No harm meant though.

just to keep it clear...yes, we do have a horse in this race (i like this expression).
we are also a rocky mounts dealer, and i have great respect for bobby and his crew up there in boulder, co. i can't say how well they answer emails submitted on their site, cause i call them up when i need something, and they always take good care of me.
all good on this end.

Mine broke but good service
I like how these mounts work but one of mine broke. I called them and asked me to take a pic and email all the info of where and when I bought it as well as how it broke. They quickly sent me a replacement even though it is out of warranty.
