Anyone have a bike rack for the roof rack of their FJ?

Tell me all about it. Thanks.

definitely doable, either on the factory bars or a yakima/thule rack system that attaches to the siderail.
problem with FJ (not really a problem) is that it's a tall vehicle, and the way the doors open makes it hard to climb up to retrieve the bike without a small ladder.

spare tire works well on the FJ for 2 bikes.

I hope you're at least 9 feet tall for this plan to work.

All you have to do is open the doors and stand on the doorwell. Not a problem at all.

I drive a FJ Cruiser and have my rack on the spare tire. I can't imagine trying to put a bike on the roof anytime much less after a long tail whipping ride...

    RockyMounts TieRod

The RockyMounts TieRod works really well with the factory crossbar on my FJ. Low profile as well. Not a problem getting the bikes on and off, though I do have side steps.

I went with the NorthShore 4 bike rack on my FJ. I was concerned about the height of a roof rack.

+1 on the NorthShore rack, if you only have adult bikes to put on the rack! you have to get more creative to hold smaller bikes and road bikes sometimes.

I have a lifted 4runner and the thought of one arming my DH or AM bike onto the roof while standing on the doorwell seems like a huge pain.
