when can I buy a Canyon bike in the US?

I have money burning a hole in my wallet,
When can I order a Canyon bike to be shipped to the US?

Their website says "Late summer 2017", which I guess is August / September?

Anyhow, the YT Industries Jeffsy may get my money instead.

I know they're setting up HQ in Chino, CA but if history is any indicator it will be later than promised. This industry loves to announce new stuff which isn't available for over a year later.

They wont sell any MY17 Bikes, and MY18 Bikes will probably have a 3-6 month lead time.
This time next year you may be riding a canyon if everything goes without a hitch

I decided not to wait, went with YT instead.

Which will be MY18 Bikes. Most orders placed for new model year bikes are 3-4 months out (for Canyon)
When I got mine, I got a 15 when the 16's were coming out. Otherwise my bike was expected to ship in Feb 16. I paid for mine in late August.

And when is your YT being delivered? All the YT's I'm interested in are sold out and not available until September. I live in a snowy climate so that gives me juuuuust enough time to ride a few months and put the soon-to-be year old bike away for 4 months.

Those 'getting current' statements hopefully mean bikes with space in the rear for 2.6" tires and Plus tires both 29 and 27.5. They have a couple 15x110 forks and no 148 rears now.

Curious about this also but I'm pretty sure it's going to be later than what they're saying publicly, otherwise they would give a more specific date considering it's less than a month until the start of the 3rd quarter.

I'm curious what you guys think their pricing strategy will be. Will the bikes be the same prices in USD as they sell for in Euros or will they adjust significantly?

I have a couple of friends who live in the EU but for the most part the VAT + shipping to the US kills the deal for me.

Their website is saying "August 2017" now. That probably means ordering will start in August, who knows when bikes will actually ship.

You'd get VAT back once the product was exported from the EU.

Does that happen automatically or does one have to go through some process to request the refund?

I bought a used fat tire bike off of Craigslist the other day, I figure it should keep me busy until I can place an order for the bike I want when the 2018 products start dropping (since everything I'm interested in for 2017 is OOS in medium already).

    Peace

There's paperwork and then it takes some time after that, so it's definitely a hassle. I'd just wait for the 2018 stuff, if they refresh the frame you'll be better off and if they don't you might be able to snag something off the factory outlet

I saved a bunch of money buying a 2015 outlet Dude last year. There has only been small updates here and there to the frame so far.

They just posted a picture of their US demo van. That is a good sign.
