yep its a domain on a prophet

I weighed the pros and cons of having a fork that is too big on the bike and I am going to ride it for a few rides and see how it does. Most likely my nixon will go to the prophet this spring and the Domain will go on a new Transition DirtBag but for now i am testing the fork. I am going to keep the bike in xc setting so there is less torque on the headtube. Plus by the time you add the sag of a larger fork....you are into the a2c that the prophet requires. Yeah it may be a bad idea but talk about butter smooth. anyone who hasnt tried RS mission control setting forks is missing out. I never felt so much of a change to the attitude of a fork with a twist of the knob.

no rides on it yet. just built it up yesterday. I will tomorrow and this weekend though.

as for if i would recommend a 180 mm fork for a prophet i bet i wouldnt. I would suggest the 115-160 318 u turn model though. Check out the new review on www.nsmb.com THey love the fork and it would climb much better with the 160 and still be burly enough to handle the drops you can take a prophet on.

    the verdict

friggin love the domain on my prophet. That said i would go with the 160 u turn. 20 mm isnt that big of a deal and 160 is enough. the fork is butter smooth on the rocks and super progressive. pedals awesome tracks like its on rails. I would say i will hate taking the fork off my prophet this spring and going to the lighter nixon, but the domain is going to be put on a big bike for running snowshoe and wisp. Some pics of the virgin ride.
