    Xtra Long Steer Tube Help!

I bought an extra long steer tube for my 05 Prophet 1000 with a Lefty Max 140 fork. I slid the fork out of the clamps but cant seem to get the original steer tube out. I rapped it a few times with a rubber mallet but it didnt seem to budge. Any help would be appreciated

Sorry but whats an XL steer tube for a Prophet? Does it act as a spacer to raise the stem height?

Cannondale makes a longer steer tube about four inches longer than stock. The kit costs about $70 bucks and comes with a few spacers. Unfortunatly it also came with no instructions on how remove stock steer tube. Probably the same process for replacing bearings. I have the clamps off the lefty but the steer tube is not being cooporative in removal. Is there a trick or do I need a bigger hammer to to beat it out
