New question here. What type of bearings are on 2012 SL5 29er wheels with C4 hubs?

Looking to trade into a 2012 SL5. I was wondering what type of bearings are in these C4 hubs? What about the Tange Seiki CUSTOM headset? I suspect at this price point they are loose ball but cannot find anything on the google or this site. A little help?
Also what options are there for upgrading the crap RST fork with the straight 1.5 steerer? Sure I could go with a new reducer headset and get a standard fork - which is likely what I will do ultimately.
    No, I don't wanna race.

I heard from my friend that the type of bearing you are looking for is Cartridge bearings.
