Wanting Lefty for a Superfly build...headset issue

Just curious if anyone has used a lefty on a superfly. I want to use the 1 1/8 c-dale lefty steerer with a pbr. The bottom of my superfly has a press fit 1.5 lower bearing. The cups are molded into the frame. I do not want to use a conversion crownrace. Any one know of any 1 1/8 adpaters that has an OD equal to the OD of a 1.5 bearing?

Unless you have already, talk with Jake at Project 321. The best conversion units out there, and likely, the only one that has a chance of working well for you.

Thanks for the info....I hear you are the wiz with lefty's Mr. Cyclesmith. Do you by chance know where a lefty PBR conversion to a 29r PBR thread might be lurking??

I'm sure there's one around somewhere.

You just need a kit for a Solo Air Lefty, a Castle tool, and a very careful, well informed approach.

After reading through the above linked post, many seem to use elastomers as air chamber spacers. Is this different from what c-dale would supply? Is one a better Idea than another? Are cane creek thudbuster elastomers the only elastomers if so?

Stock volume reduction is achieved through the kit sold to you. If you want a more progressive feel, further reduction is done via bits that Cannondale sells, or by things like the elastomers.

I've had several customers have good luck with plastic wine corks too, so just think softish material that is stable with regards to oil etc. Get creative!
