I have been serching for a Flash 29er Carbon XL frame for a few weeks and cannot find one.

    I have found a white Caffeine 2 XL frame 2009 with BB30 for $300

Does anybody believe it will not do a good job for me

    Thanks

If it doesn't feel right wait until you can buy a XL Flash then....
I wouldn't compromise when it comes to fitting a frame/bike......

    Thanks for the replys
My question was not about fit - I ride a xl at present
It was more about wetehr the ride of an Aluminium Caffine being so much worse than a carbon?
Directed trowards anyone with experience of the two

    Thanks

I personally would not settle for a caffeine. I would however settle for an Aluminum Flash. C-dale incorporated some of the Flash carbon technology into the Aluminum frames. If you set out for a Flash carbon, going to a caffeine is a few steps down. On the other hand, if you are taking all your parts off taurine and putting them on the caffeine, it would not be a bad bike at all until you find what you really want.

I have owned and broke an Alumn Flash within months of having it. Enjoyed the bike quite a bit and tried to get another flash as a replacement (however that is another story, not a good one at that), I was able to acquire a 08 caffeine and built up a fun little bike (xl). So far I have 3 times the miles and the trails on the Caffeine over the flash and I like the Caffeine frame better. Now this is alumn vs alumn. I really like my f29 and will be hard to let it sit idle, but I have to try this carbon thing out. However C'Dale did not get the nod for this endeavor, Santa Cruz Tallboy does. I say for $300 it's a steal. get it.

    New Flash over Caffene

I have ridden a 2008 caffiene 29er XL for three years. This is a big frame. 18 inch chainstays and 70 degree head tube. The Flash, either alum or carbon, has better geometry and you can feel it right away. The Caffienes don't, in my opinion, have a natural turning feel, they have a large turning radius.
