Trail SL 3 SS Fork Question

I bought one of the these earlier this year:
    TRAIL SL 29ER 3 SS - Trail SL 29er - Hardtail 29er - Mountain - Bikes - 2013

The forks are aluminum and under heavy braking they flex back A LOT, at least 40mm. I'm assuming the flex outward under heavy impact as well but not that I can notice. I've never seen anything flex so much and its a bit discomforting.
The back end has these fancy 'save' stays on the rear triangle to accommodated bumps. Could the same idea be applied to the forks?
    Anyone else riding this bike?
My worst fear is snapping a set of forks.

40mm ? Really ? They are about to snap. Take it to your dealer.

Must be yours came with much better brakes than mine did. They could never produce enough stopping power to flex that fork.

I swapped in some derailleur housing and it made a huge difference. Highly recommended with low end mechanical disks.
