Swapping parts from a Flash to Scalpel

I have a 2012 Flash Ultimate 29er. Bought it thinking I would like the lightweight of the HT vs. the weight of my FS (Spec. Epic Marathon 29). Have had the bike for 2 seasons now, and have finally decided I just don't like hardtails.

Now I am thinking of buying a Scalpel 29er frame and moving all the parts from my Flash to the Scalpel. Can you help me out and tell me what will or won't swap over?

I know I need a different seatpost, and I need to change the wheels from 135 spacing to 142 (DT240 has a kit, should be easy).

I love the stiffness of the Lefty, and the Enve front wheel, so I don't want to give that up. Plan would be to get the Scalpel dialed in and sell the Epic.

    Thanks.

The seat post and 142 should be all you need. I have a scalpel 1 with enves and had a marathon. My marathon was full xx, sworks crank, and carbon rovals. Both bikes are great. I'd consider trying the lefty on the marathon frame with the enves using a project 321 adapter.

I don't know. I was thinking a grand for the frame and seatpost. Is that about right?

Yo Buckhorn, I don't know if it affects anything, but the lefty on the Flash is 90mm. The lefty on the scalpel is 100mm travel.

He may be able to pull out a reducer to make it a little longer. My flash came with a 90 and I put a carbon 100mm on it and did not notice a lot of difference other then it seemed a little more plush then the PBR it came with.

I'm no lefty tologist, but I believe you have to change the air chamber and remove a travel reducer to go from 90 to 100. When you go to a longer travel fork it would slacken the geometry. IDK what happens when you go the other way. As you mentioned, I switched my DLR 80 to a PBR 90 on my Caffeine 29er and didn't notice much difference. The OP just wanted to know what he had to change from Flash to Scalpel.

No, thanks for mentioning it. I appreciate all the help.
Does anyone know if the axle to crown measurement is the same on the 90mm vs. the 100mm?
Or does the 10mm less travel mean shorter A-C?
