Sram front derailleur on 2006 team scalpel?

Anyone using a sram front derailleur on their scalpel - what did you think?

Could I use the Sram Red version or is that only for road?

My stock front derial. is a shimano XT.

Does Sram make an XO front derail?

No X.0 front derailleurs and if you ask me, their other mountain bike derailleurs are all downgrades from your XT. A Red could work, depends of your shifters and crankset, I'm not sure it would work with a triple crankset but should work with a 2x9

Thanks Dan really appreciate your feedback.

If I am looking for ultimate front shifting is there a better shimano option? (XTR or is that too pricey for what you get?)

I'm not sure the XTR will shift any better, it may be a few grams lighter though. I'm not sure it's worth it personally.

It's not a Scalpel, but the X.9 is smooth and accurate on my Jekyll. I like the SRAM stuff so much I upgraded the front and rear derailleurs, and triggers. It's a much better bike for it.

you can use RECORD CAMOPAGNOLO for a cool look and wonderful shifting if you have a double.

or if triple , a ULTEGRA for triple , maybe FD-6603 code but can be wrong , not remember well, that work with 3 rings

a carbon clamp, or aluminium one , as m,ine , is BBB

good shifting and 3 hours of talking with friends in front of beers

    cheers
