SI SL vs SL MTB Crank

    Hey,

am a little confused as I do not find any infos: What is the difference between SI SL and SL Crankset for MTBs? I have a SL on my Scalpel Team 2012 and on my 2013 F29 Ultimate I have a SI SL although on the Cannondale Website it mentions SL Crank. They seem to look fairly similar...

They're the same. In 2012, there was only a Hollowgram SL model. For 2013, there are three models, all names now start with 'SI'.

    • New for the 2013 model year is a cheaper/heavier Hollowgram SI (3D forged, not two halves machined and bonded like the others)

    • There is yours, the SISL (same as last year's SL, just a different name)

    • There's also the new SISL² which is an even lighter version of the SISL with different machining to remove more material while keeping the excellent stiffness

    Thanks.
Maybe I should apply to work for Cannondale's tech support.

Okay okay, for double points. Who makes C'dales frames? I thought I heard that they were made by Merida?

I doubt, Merida being part owner and the manufacturer of Specializeds, I don't think Cannondale would want them to be responsible for their products... maybe the lower end frames but probably not the higher end ones.
