    Shock Bolts

OK so this may be a dumb question, but do I need specific bolts to replace my shock mount bolts, or can I use anything that meets the size spec. For example my Super V uses M6x40 bolts, will any bolt that size do or does it need to meet a certain strength spec as well?

    Thanks

you can use any bolt that is at least a decent grade steel. No Al, nylon, or something like that. Titanium is fine too, but$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Stainless steel also has nice corrosion resistance. A lot times it's hard to find the correct shaped head for the bolt. A lot of them are these "button" shaped heads that are not that common.

Thank you, I asked someone at a shop and they were baffled. They weren't sure if they should contact Cannondale or Fox. I said call both and get back to me, but they didnt. This helps a bunch. I am rebuilding my old SV and upgrading to a platforming shock, but my old bolts have a bit of a bend to them. And my Prophet's bolts have some rust so I need to find replacements for both.

    Thanks again
