    scalpel suspension explanation?

I remember when the scalpel was introduced there were a couple sites with good explanations of how and why the suspension design works. Does anyone have a link or a saved document that you could send me?

    thanks,
    Paul

Do you want it to understand or because you are after the document for other reasons?

I'm looking to understand. It seems like have the "pivot" halfway down the chainstay would be a bad thing (short lever arm, more flex for same amount of travel, more chain length variation), but they did it on purpose so I assume there's a reason for it. It seems like there was a couple of good explanations of it early on, but I'm not able to find them anymore and can't recall the reasoning from memory.

    thanks,
    Paul
