Scalpel and BB30 XX crank - will it work??

I've searched the forums and also contacted Canondale but can't seem to get a definitive answer. Will the SRAM XX BB30 crank fit on a 2009 Scalpel?? Anyone know for sure? Has anyone installed an xx crank on a Scalpel?

Here is what I got back from C'dale:

    Road 142mm +/- 2mm

    Mnt 172mm

The one with the wider q-factor fits for sure, the narrower one, I don't know...

I think the XX only comes in one q-factor 156 (?).

It comes in only one chainline but two different q-factors.

as far as I can tell, there is only one q factor offered for the xx (156Q). did you see another listed some where? I wonder what q factor the hollowgram si and k-force cranks are...

jrock: They are available in 156 and 164 q-factors for the BB30 models. Chainline is always the same whatever the model.

BadBoyNY: Q-factor is the overall width of the crankset, the bigger the q-factor, the further apart will be your feet. On the graphic below, the q-factor would be W4 x 2 + the thickness of the crankarms...

    great info, thank Dan!

So, which do our scalpels take? Q156 or Q164? My calculations, it's the Q164. Looks like the 156 might work but clearance would be tight.

thanks again for the posting the image above...

Anyone ever try the XX Q156 on a 2011 Carbon Scalpel? My FSA Afterburner is about done, and I am thinking about a XX, and would prefer the tighter Q-Factor. But want to be sure before I order it.

I have a 164 on my 2011 and it is tight. I'll get a measurement of clearance later today. I think a 156 would be too tight and the rub under heavy loads.

I have the XX with Q156 on my 2011 Scalpel with no issues at all so far. I've gotten about 80 miles on the setup at the moment...
