On my new 2014 F29 Carbon 3 size small, I just upgraded the seatpost from the stock C2 27.2mm x 400mm to a Save Carbon 27.2 x 400mm ... but now I can't get it low enough and it's almost like I'd have to cut it. How can that be?? It's the same size as the C2 and I could get the C2 adjusted low enough. Am I missing something?
Yeah that's true, but that distortion is way up by the saddle clamp. I'm not trying to push it in that far. Maybe it's slightly distorted lower down, but that would seem to really limit its range of use.
Measure distance to the first obstruction in the seat tube, this should be the bottle cage bolts? Compare this to the length of the post and as said the save post is not round for the full length.
False alarm gents. It was just too long. I pulled it and measured against the 400mm C2 stock, and it was over 1" longer. So it just runs long and was interfering with the bottle cage bolts. I cut about an inch off and it's fine now. Thanks!
